The Third International Congress for Cyprus Studies organised and hosted by the Centre for Cyprus Studies of Eastern Mediterranean University on November 13-17, 2000 and the vast number of papers submitted to be presented at the conference are collected in four volumes; each volume is allocated to different interest groups such that volume one is on history, two is on linguistics and literature, three on Cyprus issue and the fourth volume is basically on folklore and on miscellaneous subjects in like unity the conference theme. Of the four volumes, only the second one which comprises papers on language and literature presented only in Turkish. Volumes 1, 3 and 4 embody papers presented either in English or in Turkish.
Volume one, devoted entirely to history, has five papers presented in English on subjects like Cypriot Visionary, Artemis (Ephira), Frankish-Armenian, Cyprus Imbroglio, The Emergence of Republic. All of which form a reliable source of information for scholars, researchers working in the field.
Cyprus Issue and Tourism treated in volume three under two distinct headings. In the former section, out of the six papers presented by scholars of the area, sixteen are in English. The conflict which has been on the island for the last thirty odd years is treated from a variety of perspectives. Volume four which comprises of papers on folklore and miscellaneous matters presented either in English or Turkish, brings out into the open issues like water problem, housing policies, and preservation of natural heritage, exotic animals which function as reliable source of interpretation for scholars, students, researchers interested in matters such as these listed.
